Sunny skies greeted track and field athletes from both White River and Enumclaw Thursday afternoon, with both Plateau programs hosting North Puget Sound League opponents.

The final outcome was particularly pleasing on the rural Buckley campus, where the White River teams rang up convincing victories over Todd Beamer High. The boys rolled to a 98-36 decision while the WR girls were even more dominant, winning 110.5-20.5.

The White River girls sported a pair of two-time winners, with Lilly Banks taking top honors in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes and Belle Knauss capturing the pole vault and triple jump.

White River’s boys also had a pair of dual winners. Mateo Anderson was tops in the 800-meter run and in the 1,600 meters, while Kaden pierce won in the shot put and discus.

Across the river in Enumclaw the host Hornets earned a split decision against Thomas Jefferson High. The EHS girls managed a slim 72-66 victory while the boys were on the short end of a 66-60 score.

The girls were led by Zoey Roth who took No. 1 honors in the 100-meter dash and the javelin. The Enumclaw boys were particularly strong in the running events where Cole Olson was first at 100 meters, Sonny Borders was tops at 200 meters, Liam Hording took the 800 meters and Melvin Johnson was first across the line at 1,600 meters.
