Letter to the Editor: The degradation of the Supreme Court

I don’t know about you but I’m getting very tired of our “Supreme Court” interpreting the constitution to say whatever Trump and his administration want it to say, and in many cases, without any opinions to back up their decisions.
Kristopher Galvin writes in some detail why the Republican states are apparently justified to redraw their districts to exclude minority representation, because the “Supreme Court” says its OK (“Letter to the Editor: Read Louisiana v Callais opinion for yourself,” published June 17).
And he also states that, after all, Clarence Thomas voted with the majority and he’s Black. Well, anyone who has followed his voting record in the entire history of his time on the court can easily see that he doesn’t consider himself black, in fact I wonder if he even has any mirrors in his household to remind him that he is.
And then of course Kristopher also sights that it was southern Democrats who instigated all of the Jim Crow laws in the south, so there! The right always points to that fact, even though after FDR and his policies, many southern Democrats abdicated to the Republican party and then after the civil rights legislation of the mid sixties the conversion was complete, all of the racists in our country are now firmly ensconced in the Republican party. Look no further than the fact that all of the racist organizations in our country support Republican candidates.
The “Supreme Court” has become nothing less than a tool for the racist party in our country to circumvent the constitution in every way it possibly can to favor this madman currently in power and if we don’t act he is well on his way to declaring our elections rigged and becoming the dictator that he said he would be from day one.
It was no faux pas when he said of the last presidential election, “Vote for me and you’ll never have to vote again.” He has enriched himself and his family to the tune of some four billion dollars since the beginning of his current term and that is basically all his presidency has been about.
How anyone can still support this feeble excuse for a human being totally excapes me. Just sayin’.
