Victim in fatal hit and run identified

The victim of a recent fatal hit and run in Black Diamond has been identified.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Christopher Ryan Banchero, 27, died due to multiple blunt force injuries on July 25 near the intersection of Jones Lake Road and 3rd Avenue (SR 169).

The BPD responded to a reported hit and run around 11 p.m.

On July 26, the department asked the public for information, including information on the suspect vehicle, which was described as a potentially dark metallic blue 2004 – 2009 Mazda 3. T

The suspect turned himself in the next day, according to the BPD.
