Teen eyes pageant

Enumclaw Middle School seventh-grade student Mariah Sampson will vie in National’s 2009 Miss PreTeen Seattle pageant competition Sunday.

Sampson submitted an application and took part in an interview session earlier.

She will be competing for prizes and speciality gifts.

The Miss PreTeen division is one of four for young ladies between the ages of 7 and 19.

The Miss PreTeen winner will move on to the Cities of America National Competition in Orlando, Fla.

Sampson is the daughter of Mike and Tess Sampson of Enumclaw. She is a soccer player and performs with The Ballet Workshop.
