Cruising for a brewing: Plateau entrepreneur sells coffee on wheels

The staff at Buckley Veterinary Clinic was happy to see Lissa DeGroot wheel her big maroon Coffee Cruiser into their parking lot Thursday morning.

The animal clinic has become one of DeGroot’s regular Buckley and Bonney Lake stops since she purchased the mobile espresso stand Jan. 3.

With an espresso shop background, DeGroot said the hardest part of the job so far has been getting used to wielding the big rig around parking lots.

She said she’s friends with Heidi Massey who recently purchased Enumclaw’s mobile espresso Mocha Motion. As the mother of young chidren who are now off to school, DeGroot jumped at the chance to buy the former Javalicious truck and cruise the streets selling coffee treats.

Since starting, she’s lined up about a dozen regular morning stops between 7:15 and 10:45 a.m. and is willing to add more to the route.

Plateau sports fans can also catch her at White River High sporting events.

Coffee Cruiser is also available for special events and fundraisers.
