A fight earlier today between two men became bloody after one of the involved parties brought out a Japanese-style samurai sword. Bonney Lake police came out in full force, temporarily shutting down the section of 208th Avenue East near state Route 410.

The altercation occurred at a residence on the 9500 block of 208th Ave E, for reasons unknown at this time.

The disagreement became physical and one of the men brought out the sword, Bonney Lake police spokesman Daron Wolschleger said.

In the ensuing struggle, both men sustained significant injuries and lacerations, though they were not life threatening. They were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

“All we saw was police, cars, and a couple of bloody people,” said Katie VanParys, the manager of nearby Bonney Lake Fitness. “I thought, at first, that it was an accident.”

Charges against both men are pending an investigation.
