City offices remain open during Federal government shutdown

The following was released by the City of Bonney Lake Oct. 1:
City of Bonney Lake offices and services are not impacted by the U.S. federal government shutdown – we are open for business today as usual. Below you’ll find information on the status of some federal services during the shutdown. For more information visit www.usa.gov/shutdown.shtml or call 1-800-FED-INFO (1-800-333-4636).
The USA.gov website indicates that the following services will continue during the government shut down:
- The U.S. Postal Service will keep delivering mail.
- Social Security beneficiaries will continue receiving checks.
- Active military will continue serving.
- Air traffic controllers, prison guards and border patrol agents will remain on the job.
- NASA Mission Control will continue supporting astronauts serving on the Space Station.
Passport Services will continue to be provided as long as funds are available; please check www.travel.state.gov for status updates or call the Bonney Lake Municipal Court, whose staff handle passport applications, at 253.862.6606, before coming in for passport services.
