The Cascade Regional Blood Service is putting out an urgent call for type O-Negative blood.
Due to extremely high use of O-Negative blood at area hospitals over the last several days, the supply of O-Negative has reached what Cascade is calling a “critical level.”
According to a press release, there are patients currently receiving special life-saving treatments at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and a second emergency situation with a 25-year-old patient at another hospital this past weekend, all requiring a significant number of O-Negative units.
Residents with type O-Negative blood are urged to call 1-877-24-BLOOD or email appt@crbs.net to make an appointment to donate.
In addition, The Cascade Regional Blood Services will host mobile blood drives at the following times and locations:
1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays at Columbia Bank, 19925 state Route 410 East Bonney Lake;
