Black Diamond Council narrowly avoids elementary school building delays
The Black Diamond City Council almost didn’t approve a traffic mitigation agreement between the city and the Enumclaw School District during their Aug. 18 meeting. Without the agreement, the opening of the new Black Diamond Elementary School could have been delayed, the school district argued. New Wilkeson Auxiliary to be chartered Sunday
The Wilkeson Aerie is about to get a new Auxiliary this Sunday, complete with 71 new members. The chartering is private, but the Fraternal Order of Eagles building in town will be open to the public for a lunch celebration at 1 p.m. Read more about the Auxiliary and chartering here.
Green River College appoints interim president
Scott Morgan, former Spokane Community College president, has been named interim president of Green River College after Eileen Ely’s resignation last June. “All four of the candidates, first off, were well aware of the fact we have struggled in recent years,” said Tim Clark, the vice chair of the college’s Board of Trustees. “All four of the candidates really were quite open to trying to rebuild that necessary conversation with students, staff and faculty in terms of building mutual respect in moving forward in a direction that is going to help us deal with changes that we face.” Read more about Morgan and the college here.
