Spartans squash Washington High in final regular season duel | SHS Wrestling

Sumner High School’s boys wrestling team ended the regular season victorious after squashing Washington High 51-23.

The Spartans made a whopping eight pins and 2 point decision wins out of 14 matches.

Jacob Unger, 106 pounds, pinned Patriot Dillon Roberts in the first round at 1 minute, 17 seconds.

Travis Filleau, 113 pounds, couldn’t force Jose Martinez’s shoulder blades to the mat, but he brought home a devastating 22-6 point decision win.

Steven McCurley, 120, wouldn’t be pinned by Toan Nguyen, but he fell by 7-4 decision.

Cody Farthing, 126, pinned Jacob Horning at 1:43 in the first round.

Cade Little, 132, brought too little to the mat against Keagon Mulholland and lost 16-1.

Wyatt James, 138, pinned Jude Manalo at 3:39 in the second round.

Jed Schliesman, 145, pinned Jacob Nelson at 2:31, in the second round.

A.J. Atoigue, 152, defeated Dillon Dosen in an 18-2 decision.

Tanner Sjoden, 160, fell to Brendon Anthony by one point, 12-11.

Nick Hultberg, 170, was pinned by Nick Corey in under a minute.

Nick Ehrenheim, 182, pinned Roderick Goodwin at 1:11 in the first round.

Sean Bowles, 195, pinned Pual Koppson at 3:19, in the second round.

Justin Myers, 220, pinned Anatoly Karp at 3:25 in the second round.

Zach Summers, 285, was pinned by Marco Rameriz in 33 seconds.

The Spartans move on to Sub-Regional competition this weekend.
