Enumclaw resident will have to walk a little further to get to their local United States Postal Office about about a month.
The USPS parking lot is expected to be closed April 20 through May 15 for construction.
Construction on the lot includes replacing concrete road panels, replacing sidewalks, and grind and overlay asphalt along the street; one of the main goals is to make the lot ADA-compliant, the city said.
Enumclaw will also take this opportunity to replace city water utility mains.
While construction is underway, there may be sidewalk closures, alleyway closures, and one-lane or full street closures on Marshall Avenue, both north and south of Cole Street, and Washington Avenue that will affect pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The city of Enumclaw expects to publish more information on potential closures as the construction date nears.
The city encourages USPS visitors to use available street parking or parking at the public lot by the library.
Residents can expect the lot to be restored as it was when construction is complete.
Any cars using the lot after-hours during construction may be towed.
