Letter to the Editor: Elfers needs history lesson; letter writers need Jesus

Sunday’s news report had ended, covering Saturday’s attempt to assassinate President Trump and commit mass murder.
The early investigation describes the perpetrator as a “No Kings” rally participant, a contributor to Democrat candidates and having an acute hatred for Christians, who had spiraled downward into violence, i.e. stage Four Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Next, I read the April 22 edition of The Courier-Herald from Saturday’s mail.
I had hoped that the TDS suffering of Rich Elfers was in remission, based on his recent pieces about the dangers posed by an Iranian nuclear weapon and the morbidly obese Washington state government spending.
But the April 22 column “This presidency has introduced many new words to our cultural lexicon” dashed my hope. It characterizes a list of words as something brought about by President Trump, but historical events don’t support his “Trump’s fault” claims. With the constraints on letter length, I’ll address just three of them.
(1) “Gaslighting” is a very old pre-Trump term. It was demonstrated during the Biden Presidency, when Biden, Harris, and Mayorkas told Americans to ignore the millions of illegal aliens crossing the Southern border, claiming the U.S. border was closed and secure.
(2) Another term cited by Elfers, “Fake News,” fits the fable that Trump collaborated with Putin in the 2016 elections. This claim was created through a fake document, created for and sold to candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign, leaked to the media by Washington insiders in the FBI.
(3) Perhaps Elfer’s description of Legacy Media networks as giving equal time to the two major parties was true sometime during the 20th Century, but I suggest Mr. Elfers look at the analyses of the Media Research Center for a more accurate picture of the left-leaning bias in today’s Legacy Media.
Two April 22 opinion letters are from recidivist writers with advanced cases of TDS, disparaging other writers who recently wrote (correctly) that Jesus Christ is King.
These TDS sufferers are confused that genuine faith in Jesus is not synonymous with organized religion. I applaud the desire of writers Buss and Akers to proclaim Jesus and their hope others will come to know Him as Lord and Savior. They should not be surprised these statements may lead to persecution by opponents of Jesus – the Lord warned believers this would occur.
In some cases, their efforts may be like throwing pearls before swine, but other folks may benefit from their efforts to share the Gospel message.
The second coming of Jesus has been scheduled (by God the Father) to provide the opportunity for many to find salvation through Jesus, but God has kept that date to Himself, so that sinful man cannot “game the system.”
Jesus will suddenly return to vanquish the forces of the Antichrist, establish the Millennial Kingdom and pronounce judgment upon nonbelievers.
End times writer Mark Tredecim warns, “Events in Revelation may be closer than they seem in your mental mirror.”
