EHS TENNIS: Hornets stay in hunt for championship

Wins over Peninsula, Auburn Mountainview and White River kept the Enumclaw High Hornets in the hunt for a league tennis title as the season winds down.

Enumclaw beat Peninsula 4-1 Sept. 27.

Dan Milat won 6-1, 6-0. Tyler McCarthy and Levi Goodin were 6-0, 6-3 winners. Kevin Johnson and Michael Lucarelli earned a victory at No. 2 doubles 6-4, 6-4 and Patrick Putman and Anthony Chynoweth won 6-2, 6-1.

Enumclaw topped Auburn Mountainview 3-2 Sept. 29.

Milat won 6-0, 6-0. Berry picked up first and last set victories of 6-4, 6-3 for his win. Johnson and Lucarelli won 6-4, 7-4.

The Hornets downed White River Thursday 4-1 in nonleague play.

Milat cruised past Mike Baron 6-0, 6-1. McCarthy and Goodin topped Tanner Williams and Josh Mills, 6-0, 6-1. Johnson and Lucarelli defeated Jason Tyler and Justin Gaull 6-3, 6-1. Putman and Chynoweth teamed for a 6-1, 6-4 win over Sam Bruckbauer and Tommy McCarragher.

Friday, the Hornets suffered a 5-0 loss to Auburn.
