Letter to the Editor: Recent letter disparages Black voters

A recent letter (“The degradation of the Supreme Court,” published June 24) indicated that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas obviously was not Black.
Reason: Judge Thomas voted for the conservative issues that came before the court. That sounds like a blatant pigeon-hole racist comment. Wonder if the honorable justice sees himself as a human being and bases his votes on the content of his character and not the color of his skin (M.L. King)?
Furthermore, the snide mirrors comment regarding Justice Thomas reinforces the forementioned racist view that all Blacks must vote lock-step for the liberal Democrat agenda. Such statements belittle the intelligence of African-Americans as being unable to think for themselves. I can’t imagine any of my Black cousins attending the annual family reunion appreciating such a bigoted comment.
The writer’s time might be better spent puzzling over why Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson “declined to provide a definition for the word “woman” during her 2022 confirmation hearings “because she’s not a biologist.” With all of the litigated gender issues these days, will she recuse herself from voting on them?
Perhaps time spent reading the works of Thomas Sowell would help to broaden the perspectives of those who want to keep the Blacks on the Democrat plantation.
