A gutsy but inexperienced Enumclaw High fastpitch squad that has relied heavily on senior Austin Rogers, made the scene of the rain-delayed, one-day Class 3A state fastpitch tournament at Tacoma’s South End Recreation Area Saturday and was eliminated by Bellevue 10-6.
Every once in a great while a special crew comes along at Enumclaw High that, through a noteworthy combination of talent and chemistry, is able to battle through whatever adversity stands in its path and battle its way deep into the playoffs.
Inclement weather postponed the West Central District III fastpitch tournament at Spanaway’s puddle-ridden Sprinker Recreation Center last weekend, but the event was rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

The White River fastpitch crew’s record moved to 4-9 as it won a nonleague, 12-3 contest against Class 1A Orting and then Thursday lost to Bonney Lake 10-0 in a five-inning affair.
