Photo by Kevin Hanson Among the highlights of a trip to Cape Disappointment State Park is a stop at the North Head Lighthouse. The original lighthouse, knows as the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, went out of service in 1856, but ships continued to run aground at the mouth of the Columbia River, prompting the North Head Lighthouse to be built.

WRHS’ Hornets looking to improve on last year’s performance

Starting QB this year will be Jacob Rennaker.

PHOTO BY KEVIN HANSON The greens and fairways were turned crimson and gray on a Saturday morning in 2021 when the Enumclaw Golf Course played host to a tournament that raised money for the WSU wrestling program. Above, Heather McCann begins with a drive down the first fairway. She was one of 37 participants who helped generate $13,500 for the Cougar program that year. Aside from players, money came from 20 businesses and individual sponsors, an auction of 28 donated items and the sale of WSU wrestling T-shirts. Phil Burnett, who coaches the WSU team, is an Enumclaw resident.
