The young and old alike honored and celebrated their local veterans during Veterans Day by donating money to the Enumclaw VFW Post 1949. In past years,
due to COVID, donations to the post have lagged, and the VFW hoped this year more money would be donated to go toward various programs that help
out veterans with medical bills, emergency relocation costs, and other challenges they may face. Pictured at the local QFC is Barb Kindvarter and the Short
family. Meanwhile, at the Buckley Federation of Eagles No. 1387, an annual display for Veterans Day has been constructed by Helen Whitehouse for locals to
learn about anything and everything there is to know about veterans, from honoring local members of the Eagles Club and recognizing the military’s most
decorated heroes to a list of entertainers and sports figures involved with the armed forces and “The Old Man and a Bucket of Shrimp,” the true story of
Eddie Rickenbacker’s survival at sea. The display is available for the public to view, and will remain up for a while longer
