WRHS wrestling takes district championship; other teams also heading to state

The winter sports postseason has begun.

The season’s first edition of the Hornet-Hornet girls basketball game took place Jan. 8 in the White River High gymnasium and saw the host team emerge with a 69-31 victory. Enumclaw and White River face tough competition in opening rounds.

PHOTOS BY KEVIN HANSON Wrestlers from White River made the short trip to Enumclaw High’s Chuck Smith Gymnasium the evening of January 29 for the grappling version of the Battle of the Bridge. It was the Buckley-based Hornets who emerged victorious; see Sports Roundup for full match details. In these photos, White River’s Morgan Presly (maroon headgear) is on his way to a victory at 126 pounds and Enumclaw’s Caleb Grantham (yellow headgear) has the advantage at 144 pounds.
