Biden’s report card so far

No administration is perfect, but this one is on the right path so far.

A conservative friend of mine, on Facebook, (yes, I still have one or two) posted recently that “You must really be a Trump hater, because you surely can’t support all of the terrible things that are happening under this administration.”

Here are some of the terrible things that I see happening: We are finally pulling out of a 20-year war that we started and should never have been involved in in the first place. Vietnam should have taught us that we can’t make another country’s government over in our own image without the will of the people living there.

There are 10 and 1/2 million new jobs waiting to be filled, but many are going unfilled because people have come to the conclusion that they don’t want to work three of them just to get by.

Gas prices are very high, but not high enough to get much of the population out of their gas guzzling pickups and SUVs.

We are on our way to a spending bill, involving a couple of trillion dollars, that will be for the good of the country for a change instead of just for the filthy rich.

We have returned to the Paris climate accords, but still not nearly enough is being done, quickly enough, to try to reverse human caused global warming. I heard on the news that without drastic steps being taken, immediately, we have little hope of getting global warming under control.

We have a new surge in the coronavirus because, in spite of the Biden administration’s attempts to get everyone vaccinated, Trump was so effective at politicizing it that too many people still won’t get it. “No shirt, no service” is no problem, but how dare you tell me I have to wear a mask to keep me from possibly killing my friends and neighbors or myself. If our country would have gotten behind this vaccine the way we reacted to the polio vaccine, we would have it well under control by now.

No administration, ever, is without its missteps and I’m sure this one will be no exception, but from all of the evidence I have seen, we are well on our way to righting this ship of state that we came so perilously close to losing, just sayin’.
