Enumclaw High’s ‘Peter Pan’ great for students and community

Recently, I treated myself to a morning matinee of the Enumclaw High School’s production of “Peter Pan.” What a delight it was to see: beautiful set design; fine direction by Mr. Darrell Miller; fine musicians directed by Mrs. Lynda Alley; actors flying around the stage, most notably Peter Pan played by a talented senior Kameron Jacobs; well-choreographed dancing led by a talented freshman Juliet Bannerot; and a delightfully menacing Captain Hook played by a talented senior Taylor Capellaro. All the actors did a superb job, including guest actor Mr. Shawn Tobius (Spanish teacher) who played the part of an ill-fated pirate.

In Enumclaw, we are so very fortunate to have productions with this caliber of performing artists and musicians. Additionally, our school district is so very fortunate to have enabled all of the elementary schools to see performances of this production. When I saw “Peter Pan,” Mr. Miller proudly welcomed the basketball team and the special education department. The Enumclaw High School’s Performing Arts Program enriches and broadens the lives of both our students and the community. I am so pleased that I was able to enjoy this captivating performance which I will remember for some time.
