Local police failing to enforce pandemic safety measures

I was told if I didn’t like it, I could move.

In regards to the Proclamation 20-05 for COVID-19. The city of Enumclaw and the Enumclaw PD so far are refusing to enforce the law regarding COVID-19. As an example, after the stay-at-home order was issued, the city allowed a car show. I have repeatedly email the city council and mayor with my complaints but they have not responded.

Many businesses are in blatant violation. There is no attempt by the city to cite these businesses. The Enumclaw PD on a number of occasions have told me it’s not their job to hand out citations. This maybe so, or not. In either event I am regularly told if I didn’t like it I could move.

These laws are to protect all of us in the community. These are laws and not subject to the whims of the city of Enumclaw or the Enumclaw PD. They are required by law to enforce these laws. The city and the PD are public entities and are required to enforce the laws. The official position of the city and the PD must be in-line with the law and not subject to their feelings about it.

Myself, my family and many residents are put in jeopardy daily by the blatant disregard of the law by various businesses and the city. They must enforce the law!
