TAVERN ASSAULT

• Police were dispatched to a Church Street tavern in Wilkeson at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday and spoke with several witnesses who said a man, still in the bar, had struck a friend of theirs in the head with a pool cue. The suspect was arrested for second-degree assault and transported to the Pierce County Jail. The man who had been struck in the head was taken to the hospital to seek medical attention.

BAD EXCHANGE?

• At approximately 8 p.m. Nov. 24, a woman reported that her estranged husband had threatened her as they were in the process of exchanging custody of their three children in a public place. After the alleged threats, the husband left the area without further incident.

FOUND PROPERTY

• Officers were dispatched to a C Street address for a report of found property on Nov. 23. An officer made contact with a White River School District employee who reported finding a brass pipe, commonly used to smoke marijuana, on a bus after the kids were dropped off at school. The pipe and accompanying lighter were sealed in an evidence bag and placed in evidence for destruction. There were no witnesses or suspects at the time of the report.

WELFARE CHECK

• At approximately 2 p.m. Nov. 20, police were dispatched to a 4th Street residence to check on a 53-year-old female’s welfare after she told a medical company representative over the phone that she was going to jump off a bridge. When police arrived on the scene the woman was fine and told police that she had made the statement due to frustration with medical insurance forms, not because she was considering ending her life.
