Windmill Garden’s Ben Degoede asks volunteers to stop by the Float Barn tonight at 6 p.m. for a work party on the float for the Daffodil Parade in April.
This year’s theme is “The Spirit of Adventure.” The float will be centered around Mt. Rainier, and will include a flower and rhubarb field with Sumner as the gateway to the mountain.
Remaining work includes—but is not limited to—cutting and shaping Mt. Rainier from foam and building a base from plywood, cutting the foothills and treeline from foam, creating a moving fish wheel, and creating a river out of petal paper.
The float team is also considering music to play as the float progresses on its parade route April 9.
Contact Ben DeGoede at 253-863-5843 ext. 101 for more details.
