Bonney Lake

WARRANT

A 21-year-old man was stopped Feb. 27 at 8:35 p.m. for driving with a defective headlamp in the 18200 block of state Route 410. A records check revealed the man had a warrant out for his arrest. The man was issued an infraction for driving with the defective headlamp and was released to a Buckley corrections officer due to the warrant from Buckley.

INTOXICATED

Officers responded at approximately 9 p.m. Feb. 28 to a call of a disturbance. Officers discovered a 28-year-old man who was “extremely intoxicated from alcohol.” The man was throwing things around the house and his 50-year-old father was holding him and trying to calm him. The residence was cleared after the officers learned from the 28-year-old’s family he has anger problems when drinking. At about 10:11 p.m. the officer responded again to the residence because the 28-year-old was trying to fight with family members in the front yard of the residence. The man was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and taken to the Buckley Jail.

FRAUD

A 59-year-old female alerted police March 2 of fraudulent activity on her checking account. The woman stated she noticed a transaction of $87.65 neither she nor her husband made. She told police she was notified Feb. 17 that her debit card number and pin were compromised and she would be issued a new card. She stated the old account number was used. The transaction on her account revealed a business name, which she had never heard of. Police attempted to contact the business, but did not reach an individual. The investigation is ongoing.

VEHICLE PROWL

When an officer responded March 1 two 18-year-old males were discovered to be prowling a boat. One of the responding officers located two suspects in a nearby neighborhood. The reporting party, a 19-year-old male, showed an officer to the prowled boat and noticed some items were strewn about and an awning on the boat was left open.

The suspects were transported to the Bonney Lake Police Department, where one male was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol and the other was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol and vehicle prowling. The suspects were released to parents.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A 27-year-old woman was seen in the driveway of a residence, stating she was trying to go home, when officers responded to a call at 3:09 a.m. March 1 on 82 Street. The 29-year-old sister of the 27-year-old told officers she was hit in the face by her sister. The officer observed the 29-year-old’s lip was bleeding. The 27-year-old denied fighting and was issued a citation for domestic violence assault and was issued a no contact order through the Bonney Lake Municipal Court.

SHOPLIFITNG

Police responded to a business along SR 410 regarding a shoplifting incident on Feb. 26 at 2:42 p.m.Two employees stated they say a white male leave the store with merchandise without paying. The suspect entered a vehicle from the passenger-side door and the vehicle took off. The employees recorded the license plate and gave it to the officer. Investigation is ongoing.

RACING

A resident reported 25 to 30 vehicles racing in the 2200 block of 140th Feb. 28. As officers arrived at the scene, the vehicles fled. An officer blocked three vehicles. One of the drivers did not have a driver’s license and was driving his grandmother’s car. Officers contacted the grandmother, who said she couldn’t remove the vehicle then. The vehile was towed and the driver cited for having no valid license.

ACCIDENT

On March 3, officers were dispatched to a one-car accident in the 1200 block of Sumner Avenue. They found a pickup against a hydrant in front of a house with extensive damage to the front and covered porch. When officers arrrived, the driver was sitting on the porch, and the owners came to the door and began yelling at him. They told officers that no one was injured. They were asleep at the time of the collision and ran out. The driver apologized to them for crashing into their house. The driver was cited for DUI.
