Officers were called April 22 to a suspicious device found in a Goodwill donation bin. Officers determined the device could be explosive and called the Pierce County bomb squad.

POSSIBLE EXPLOSIVE DEVICE: Officers were called April 22 to a suspicious device found in a Goodwill donation bin. Officers determined the device could be explosive and called the Pierce County bomb squad. A robot was deployed to remove the device, which was detonated behind the building. Pieces of the device were given to the bomb squad for a forensic exam.

DRINKING IN THE PARK: Officers were performing a routine check at Allan Yorke park after dusk on April 22 when they spotted a woman drinking beer at a table. The female told officers she was waiting for a friend. After the woman gave her name and date of birth to officers, a record check revealed her name didn’t exist in the system, and her date of birth showed she was under 21. Officers placed her under arrest for false information and minor in possession. A search of the woman revealed a social security card which revealed the woman’s real identity, and another record check showed she had a warrant. The woman was transported to Nisqually Jail.
