Betty Jean (Thovson) Emmerton died April 10, 2013, in Enumclaw.

She was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Veblen, S.D. She is remembered as an amazing cook, wonderful friend and a voracious reader who could throw together a dinner party at a moment’s notice.

She is survived by husband Ray; children Linda Peterson and husband Mark, Toni Ames and husband Layne, Ron Emmerton and wife Jackie and David Emmerton and wife Sharon; brother Merle Thovson; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
