The Bonney Lake High boys golf team achieved its highest point total in two years Oct. 4, with a score of 65 against Auburn Mountainview. Unfortunately for the Panthers, Mountainview prevailed in the end with a score of 88.

“To me, this was our best week of golf all year, which is nice as we prepare for districts and build on it for next year,” coach J.D. Rushton said. “Even though we lost, we were very positive and know it was a great day for us.”

Kash Kolterman led the Panthers with a 41-stroke and 14 points.

The team played Decatur High School Thursday on Twin Lakes, a narrow and challenging country club course. The Panthers lost 81-53, but finished strong. The boys amassed just 21 points on the first five holes, but took away 32 on the remaining four.

Kolterman led the team again with a 41-stroke and 13 points.
