BLHS GOLF: Hard losses to Decatur last week

Bonney Lake High’s girls golf team faced Decatur Sept. 20 and came up short — five strokes short. The Panthers lost to the Gators 156-137, with a stroke count of 291-296.

Megan Charron led the Panthers by shooting 43 for 29 points, and scores ranged to 53 strokes and 19 points each by Whitney Wilcox and Lindsey Fisher. In the end the Gators’ good outweighed its bad enough to push them over the top.

The Panther boys didn’t have it any easier, losing to Decatur 68-46.

“They were disappointed because we knew it was a match we could win if we played well,” coach J.D. Rushton said.

Kash Kolterman was two strokes away from being medalist owith 42 strokes and 12 points.

Other leading scorers were Thomas Davidson with 45 strokes and 9 points, and Jacob Rash and Taylor Dow had 8 points each.
