Boys and girls defeat Steilacoom | Sumner Cross Country

The boys had a 26-30 victory and remain undefeated in South Puget Sound League 2A. The girls had a 26-29 victory.

Sumner’s cross country teams went neck-and-neck against Steilacoom Thursday, and came out on top in both races.

The boys had a 26-30 victory and remain undefeated in South Puget Sound League 2A.

Arturo Perez came in second with a time of 17 minutes, 11 seconds. Nate Weber earned fourth with 17:44, Josh Goodsell fifth with 18:01, Jordan Landes sixth with 18:12 and Thomas Oliver ninth with 18:42.

The girls had a 26-29 victory.

Abi Hensler led the way, coming in first with a time of 19:48. Natasha Wilson came in third with 20:57, Anna Hurd fifth with 21:48, Robi Long seventh with 22:12, and Amanda Riley tenth with 24:13.

The Spartans’ final conference meet of the season is against White River and Orting at Orting High School’s course.
