Sumner High School’s boys golf team came out on top of the South Puget Sound League 2A league for the second year in a row.

The boys had the best record among seven teams at 17-1. They also were the only team in the SPSL 2A to go undefeated in medalist tournaments at 6-0.

Senior Austin Spanier took first place in the Gold Mountain Olympic medalist tournament.

“The boys have played every match for two years,” coach Casey Adcox said. “(It’s a) pretty neat group of kids.”

The girls golf team finished sixth in league with a 4-14 record. Olivia Durham was the leading Spartan in the medalist tournament in 13th place.
