Smith and Brown rifled a combined 15 kills . Smith was particularly vigilant, adding 13 digs.

The Sumner High volleyball bunch will roll out the red carpet for a tandem of league foes this week. The Sparts played Franklin Pierce Tuesday and will welcome Clover Park Thursday.

Coach, Mike Fitzpatrick said as the second half of the regular season begins this week, his inexperienced squad will be looking to get even with a few of the contingents it lost to the first time around.

“This has been a great young group of girls to mentor,” Fitzpatrick said. “They are extremely coachable and are certainly patient, capable and talented enough to keep rallies going.

“This fairly young group has exceeded my expectations as it gets better and better with each new lesson learned.”
