Local bragging rights will be on the line Thursday evening when White River and Bonney Lake do battle in prep soccer action.

The game is slated for 7 p.m. on the Panthers’ home field.

The Hornets went looking for their first victory of the season Tuesday night when they traveled south to challenge Capital High; results came too late to be included here, but will be posted Wednesday morning at cmg-northwest2.go-vip.net/courierherald.

The White River girls opened the season Sept. 8 with a disappointing showing against Auburn Mountainview. Playing on their home turf, the Hornets fell 3-0 as the visitors scored early in the game, added a bit of insurance in the 35th minute and put things away with a third goal at the 53-minute mark.
