White River’s Kingston, Schmitz hit 1,000 points

A pair of White River basketball standouts joined some elite company this season, surpassing the 1,000 point plateau for their four-year Hornet careers.

The first to make the club was Greg Schmitz who collected his 1,000th point during a January game. He’s the first to reach the milestone for the boys’ team since 2012.

On the evening of Feb. 19, during a district playoff game, Vivian Kingston scored her 1,000th point. She added to that total Saturday against Lakeside in the regional round of the Class 3A state tournament and will continue today (Wednesday) when the Hornets continue state play in the Tacoma Dome.
