A veteran bunch of male harriers from Sumner overcame the mismatch in classification between their Class 2A and the Class 3A Bonney Lake group of runners in nonleague, intradistrict cross country action, caging the Panthers 21-36.
The Sumner High volleyball squad’s 2011 campaign got off to an inauspicious beginning, as it lost to intraschool district rival Bonney Lake 25-16, 25-12 and 25-15, then dropped its initial SPSL 2A match when it visited a vastly improved Franklin Pierce contingent, suffering defeat in that outing in four sets, winning the first 25-13, then dropping three straight 25-21, 25-12 and 25-17.

Now she is working on three more entries to the series and is set to be featured at two international book fairs: the Frankfurt Book Fair in October and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in March. Nolte has had to self promote her work every step of the way.
