Laurel Allison Qualls, 54, of Enumclaw, WA died peacefully September 14, 2017, at home with family and twin sister by her side, following a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born to Robert and Evelyn Jane (Mill) Allison, February 25, 1963, in Akron, Ohio. Laurel graduated from Firestone High School in 1981 and received a BA in Organizational Behavior from Seattle Pacific University in 2002. She married Michael H. Qualls in 1997, and they lived together in Enumclaw.

And being married to a twin, one quickly learns how to share in new ways. Laurel and her twin Louise shared a special bond. From sharing cooking recipes to keeping up with family members back home in Ohio, the two always had something to laugh about.

Laurel was devoted to her faith, family, friends, and career. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir. She loved her 20 year career as a design consultant and account rep with DII in Kent WA. In 2005 she was able to take a year off from work to help raise funds with Habitat for Humanity for relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

Laurel spread light and love to all she knew. She devoted herself to serving others. Her service extended beyond the ordinary bounds of family, friends, congregation, and co-workers, as through exceptional humanitarian and spiritual outreach, she brought light and love to many lives in the broader community, as well.

Laurel’s art was feeding hungry souls. Through her legendary cooking she joyfully created countless happy memories for her family and friends. Laurel also shared her lifelong love of music – from singing in church choirs to Live Concerts. Laurel loved mountain hiking and enthusiastically passed that love on to her family and friends. She also loved doting on her cat, Robert, visiting with family and friends, reading, writing, sewing and traveling to sunny beach’s in the winter.

Laurel is preceded in death by her dear parents, Bob and Jane Allison; survived by beloved husband, Mike of Enumclaw, devoted son Jacob Qualls of Seattle; loving daughter and son-in- law Collette and Patrick Minney of Las Vegas; adoring mother and father-in- law Carrie and Howard Qualls, twin sister and brother-in- law Louise and Brian Isroff of Solon OH; brother and sister-in- law, Robert M. and Jennifer Allison of Akron OH; sister Lisa Allison Kochheiser of Bowling Green OH; ten beloved nieces and nephews; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
