Thelma P. Modrow, an 11-year resident of the area, died Sept. 16, 2014, in Wenatchee, Wash. She was 88.

She was born April 10, 1926, in Mace, Idaho, and was a career homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, reading and tending to roses and her poodles.

She is survived by sons Ron Modrow and Tom Modrow or Puyallup; daughters Nancy Matthew of Florence, Ariz., Joanne Steel of Enumclaw, Sharon Modrow of Buckley and Tammy Lusk of Wenatchee; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services took place at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Mountain View Cemetery, with Marsha Hays officiating. A private, memorial gathering will follow.
