Tuesday afternoon, Bonney Lake made it to the state soccer tournament for the second time, and was matched up with Lakeside again. This time, the Panthers defeated their opponent 1-0, moving them on to the second round and what some call the “elite eight.”

The match was won with a goal shot by Dalton Ogden — assisted by Suwilanji Silozi — in the 75th minute of play.

Goalie Moxie Oseland shut out all incoming shots from Lakeside.

The second round of the WIAA tournament proceeds Saturday at an as-yet unannounced location. The Panthers will face either Shorewood or Wilson, depending on the outcome of their 7 p.m. Wednesday game at Tahoma High School.
