At the Enumclaw Plateau Historical Society's History Award dinner on March 20, Arthur Hansen was honored as the recipient of the society's 2003 History Award.
The award is presented annually to an individual who has contributed to the preservation of the history of the Enumclaw Plateau.
Hansen was cited for the volunteer hours he has spent at the former Masonic Hall (circa 1909), located at 1837 Marion St. The building is being restored by the society, which intends to open it as a museum.
It was noted Hansen has preserved many of the unique visual and architectural features of the building, both inside and out. During renovation of the building, he has been responsible for re-piecing, or duplicating, many parts of the museum-to-be.
