Who better to run the Enumclaw-based, soon-to-open Kasey Kahne apparel store, run his on-line merchandise store and take over his fan club than his first, and longest-running fan, Tammy Kahne – mother of the 24-year-old, NASCAR Nextel Cup rising star.
Brought together through a mutual friend Connie Cline and Coleen Kavanaugh have joined forces to create this-n-that, downtown Enumclaw’s newest business. The duo opened their doors April 26 at 1523 Cole St., the former site of Sisters Consignment shop in the historic Trommald Building.

The Enumclaw High School Knowledge Bowl Team had the best score of 15 state schools competing in the annual knowledge Master Open. The team members are: Scott Boyd, Trevor Hill, Brian Horlor, Luke Petschauer, Jeremy Fisher, Jeff Skaanland, Jacob Spangler, Jennifer Biesold and coach Bea Evans.
Paula and Allen Jordan were disrupted from a tranquil Hawaiian vacation last year. The couple received a call telling them the building housing their business, TPI Printing, was burning down. Now TPI is in a new building in the same spot, 1415 Blake St.

The staff of The Enumclaw Courier-Herald captured first place in the spot news category in the 1983 Excellence in Journalism Competition of the Pacific Northwest Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi.
Picture: Tug of War was one of the most strenuous activities during last Thursday’s Mayfest celebration at Enumclaw High School, it was one of the most fun. This team from the Sophomore class pulled as hard as it could, however the team from the junior class won the competition.

Mrs. Florence Davis, Enumclaw pioneer, was a $20 winner in last week’s Mothers Day awards sponsored by the thirty-four merchants who participated in the recently concluded Lucky Shopper contest. Mrs. Davis who resides at 1455 WElls Street and who will celebrate her 96th birthday tomorrow, won $10 each for being the oldest mother to register and for being the oldest grandmother.

On June 9, Kent and the White River Valley will celebrate a lettuce Festival under sponsorship of the Kent Post of the American Legion.
Seventy-two boys and girls will bid goodbye to Enumclaw High School one week from today, June 1. Valedictory honors for the 1934 class go to a boy, Frank Mrzliker, with Mabel Kuchenbuch and Rodney Boothroyd tied for the salutatory honors.
A surprise party was given by Miss Mary Fosnick this week in honor of Miss Nellie Greiner for her birthday.
S.B. Lafromboise accompanied by Bob Campbell and Les Hall spent the week end at Pullman.
