Spartans lose first round of State | Sumner Girls Volleyball

The Sumner girls volleyball team lost its first match of the WIAA State 2A tournament this morning.

The Spartans took on the Burlington-Edison Tigers of Burlington, eventually  falling 3-1.

Individual match scores were 22-25, 21-25, 25-20 and 13-25.

The tournament is double elimination, so the Spartans still have a shot at a seventh or eighth place finish.

The team plays Capital High at 6:30 p.m. tonight; if they win, they continue play into tomorrow.
