A quartet of Enumclaw High swimmers competed last weekend at the Class 4A state championships.

The state meet, bringing together swimmers and divers from throughout the state, gathered Nov. 15-16 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Representing EHS were Margaret Petellin, Anna Bogh, Ella Hoyne and Kate Perlot.

The foursome placed 20th in both the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay. They swam a season-best time in the freestyle event.

Petellin had qualified individually in the 100-yard backstroke and, during Friday’s preliminary round, once again set a school record. She raced to a time of 1:00.19 to break her own EHS record, earning a spot in Saturday’s finals. She wound up placing 14th.
