The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Pierce County until 8 p.m. this evening.
Southerly winds of 25 to 25 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected through the early evening with winds easing to 15 to 25 mph after 8 p.m. and down to 10 to 15 mph after midnight.
The wind may cause some power outages and/or topple trees. The potential for downed trees is greater due to saturated soils in the area.
