Serial shoplifter stole more than $1,100 in merchandise | FULL BONNEY LAKE POLICE BLOTTER

PROWLED: Police on Jan. 31 were called to the 20400 block of Church Lake Drive East for a report of a vehicle prowl. According to the reporting party, a GPS unit, cd player and breath interlock device, with a total value of approximately $1,100, were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked behind his residence. Police noted no damage to the vehicle and are investigating.

FRAUD: Police on Feb. 1 were contacted by a resident who was notified by his bank about approximately $900 worth of suspicious transactions on his debit card. The transactions are all from the New York area. The victim obtained a case number and his bank is investigating.

MULTIPLE SHOPLIFTS: POlice on Fen. 2 were dispatched to the area near Walmart for report of a pair of shopliftings that occurred at Target and Marshall’s. According to Target store security, he observed a woman place numerous items of clothing in a reusable Target bag and leave with no attempt to pay. The security officer followed the suspect top the Marshall’s on the other side of the plaza and spoke with their security officer who said he too watched saw the suspect select two item and leave without paying. When security confronted the suspect and told her he just wanted the items returned and her name so she could be trespassed, the suspect initially agreed to cooperate but then ran across state Route 410 when asked for identification. The suspect eventually admitted to police she had attempted to steal the items, valued at more than $200. She was cited and released.

SERIAL SHOPLIFTER: Police on Feb. 3 were dispatched to Target for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Store security witnessed a known shoplifter enter the store and kept her on surveillance, watching her select multiple clothing and infant items and then go to a different section of the store and conceal them in a bag. She then paid for some merchandise before attempting to leave the store without paying for the remainder of the items. There were a total of 36 items valued at more than $293 that were concealed. According to store security, she had been observed stealing more than $1,100 worth of items since October. She eventually admitted top police she stole the items as well as those on the nine previous incidents. She was trespassed from the store and cited and released.

PROWL AND VANDALISM: Police on Feb. 4 were dispatched to the Marshall’s parking lot for a report of a vehicle prowl. The Victim returned to her vehicle to find the passenger side window shattered, but still hanging on, though a small hole was pushed through and a bag containing gym clothes as well as a textbook were missing. Police are investigating.

THOU SHALT NOT STEAL: Officer on Feb. 6 were dispatched to the 8200 block of Locust Avenue for a report of a theft from a church. A laptop, purse and several gift cards were reported missing from the pastor’s office. Police are investigating.

STOLEN GUN: Police on Feb. 7 took a report from a victim who said his vehicle was prowled overnight in the 19200 block of Evergreen Drive. The only item missing was a rifle locate dint he trunk valued at approximately $1,000. Police are investigating.

SHOPLIFTING: Police on Feb. 5 were dispatched to Target for a report of a shoplift in progress. The suspect discarded the packaging for a cell phone and attempted to leave the store without paying for it. When contacted, the suspect admitted to taking the phone, valued at approximately $65. He was trespassed from Target for five years and transported to Buckley Jail to be booked on theft charges.

DRUGS: Police on patrol Feb. 7 did a registration check on a vehicle and discovered the driving status of the owner to be suspended and to have a warrant. Police pulled over the vehicle and contacted the driver, who matched the description of the owner. He was discovered to be driving with license suspended. During a search, police located a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methampthetemine. He was transported to Buckley Jail and booked on charges of driving with license suspended, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and his warrant.
