Police arrest man for indecent exposure in front of female teenage neighbors | BONNEY LAKE POLICE BLOTTER

THEFT: Police were dispatched to Bonney Lake Elementary April 27 for a report of theft of a laptop computer from an office at the school. The laptop was last seen on April 23, but was missing when staff arrived April 26. There were two alarms at the school over the weekend, but there were no signs of forced entry and the lice ruled them to be false alarms. The alarms appear to be related to temporary power failures and not the theft. Police interviewed one potential suspect and investigations are continuing.

WEAPONS: Officers were called to Cedar View Park April 23 for a report of fight in progress. Dispatch advised that several subjects were seen fighting and that one person was armed with an axe. Though nearly all subjects had fled when police arrived, officers saw a person matching the description given by dispatch as he jumped over a fence. Officers on the scene recognized the suspect, who returned to the scene after stashing a backpack containing the clothing described by dispatch, as well as the hatchet and a hunting knife. The suspect said he carried the hatchet for protection and had been confronted by a group of other males at the park. He told them about the hatchet and they removed the hatchet from the suspect’s bag and threw it. Though threats were made, the group was broken up before the incident turned physical. A witness confirmed the suspect’s story that he did not throw the hatchet. Police determined that the weapons constituted a threat and the suspect was transported to Remann Hall and booked for possession of weapons apparently capable of producing bodily harm — unlawful carrying or handling.

STOLEN CAR: Police on April 25 were dispatched to the 8400 block of Locust Avenue East for a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle, a two-tone gray pickup truck is valued at approximately $1,500. Police are investigating.

VEHICLE PROWL: Police were called to the Park N Ride lot on April 25 for a report of a vehicle prowl. Sound Transit security noticed the vehicle with a broken rear window and alerted police. The glove box and center console in the vehicle were open when police arrived. Officers were unable to make contact with the owner at the time and left a card for the owner to contact them.

SHOPLIFTING: Police on April 24 were dispatched to the Albertson’s for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Store security observed the suspect take a package of beef jerky and a pack of lighters and attempt to leave the store without paying. The total value of the items was $13.50. The juvenile was released into the custody of his mother and the case was submitted to Remann Hall for possible theft charges.

VEHICLE PROWL: Officers on April 24 were dispatched to the library for a report of a vehicle prowl. The owner reported the back window of her vehicle was broken and a purse containing her license, several credit cards and a concealed weapons permit were missing. The subject was advised to cancel her credit cards and later called to report that two her card had been used at least twice before she canceled them.

BURGLARY: On April 28 officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of North Island Drive East for a report that someone had broken into a garage. The resident reported that a lawnmower, hedge trimmer and chain saw had been taken. Police are investigating.

VEHICLE PROWL: Police on April 25 were dispatched to the Rte Aid parking lot for a report of a vehicle prowl. Officers observed the lock on the driver’s side door had been punched and the owner reported that an iPod and GPS unit valued at approximate $950 had been taken from the vehicle.

THEFT/ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Police on April 25 were dispatched to Cascade Towing for a report of an attempted burglary. As the reporting party returned to the business, he witnessed another vehicle leaving the parking lot. Officers were able to identify the vehicle as one matching the description of an earlier incident at Target in which two suspects fled the store with $223 worth of merchandise. A check of the license plate of the vehicle showed it to be reported stolen in Federal Way. Police searched the year and discovered two pry bars near a fence that had been cut in the corner of the yard. Video surveillance showed the individuals involved matched the description of those seen earlier at Target. Police later confirmed that Washington State Patrol had taken the two suspects into custody and impounded the vehicle. The case was forwarded to investigations for possible charges.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: Police on April 26 were called to the 17900 block of 82nd Street East for a report that two girls under the age of 14 had witnessed a male neighbor masturbating in their front yard as they walked home from the bus stop. Police contacted the suspect who claimed to be urinating at the time. The girls reported to police that they had seen the man crouching behind a yard waste receptacle near their yard with his pants down and was “definitely not going to the bathroom.” The girls’ parents also reported having seen the neighbor engaged in similar behavior before, though generally inside with the shades open, but this was the first time he was on their property, which is why police were called. Upon contacting he suspect again, his story changed and after some investigation police determined that the suspect’s story about where he was and what he was doing was unlikely due to sight lines. The suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent exposure.

ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Officers on April 27 were dispatched to the 6400 block of South Island Drive East for a residential burglary alarm. Police observed a screen on a window had been partially removed and a window was open. Nothing inside appeared to be disturbed and police believe the home’s alarm frightened off the suspect. Police are investigating.

DRUGS AND WEAPONS: Police were dispatched to Mountain View Middle School on April 27 for a report f two juvenile suspects seen drinking and smoking marijuana in the woods behind the school. Police contacted four suspects in the woods, though two were not engaged in any criminal activity. Police immediately recognized the other two. The suspects were all under age. One was holding a knife and a metal throwing star. Another was found in possession of a glass marijuana pipe. The suspects were released to the custody of their parents and the case was forwarded to Remann Hall with a reccommendation for charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and UPDP for one and UPDP for the other.

BURGLARY: Officers on April 28 were dispatched to the Jet Stream Car Wash for a burglary alarm in the store’s automated cash machine. When police arrived, the pay machine was on the ground and the cash had been removed. Police are investigating.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police on April 29 were dispatched to the Diamond Lounge for a report of an assault. A patron reportedly punched the bartender in the head and then fled the scene on foot. Police located the suspect, described as “extremely intoxicated” soon after. He was transported to Buckley Jail and booked for disorderly conduct.
