BLHS GIRLS SOCCER: Moorehouse named MVP; EHS’s Tobius Coach of the Year

Bonney Lake’s Savanna Moorehouse was named the South Puget Sound League 3A’s Most Valuable Player as the 2009 all-league girls soccer team was released by area coaches.
Moorehouse helped lead the Panthers to the SPSL 3A championship – the first in school history. The junior midfielder also led Bonney Lake in scoring.
Shawn Tobius of Enumclaw was named Coach of the Year.
Joining Moorehouse on the first team are teammates Hilary Colbert, a junior forward, and Brianna Jones, a junior defender.
Other area players named to the first team were senior forward Kaylee Holloway, senior defender Alex Murray and freshman defender Sarah Carter of Sumner; junior midfielder Morgan Brown of White River; and senior midfielder Noelle Bauer and senior defender Alicia Tamaso of Enumclaw.
Junior Caitlin Plese of Enumclaw was selected as the first-team goalkeeper.
Named to the second team were senior midfielder Jenny Dewitz and junior midfielder Beverly Kobe of Bonney Lake; senior forward Claire Meeks, senior midfielder Dani Streuli and senior Katie LaBord of Enumclaw; senior midfielder Andi Grover and senior Jordan Swarthout of Sumner; and sophomore forward Cassidy France of White River.
Honorable mention were junior defenders Emma Martin and Tesla Pappas of Bonney Lake; senior forward Kaitlyn Trowbridge and sophomore Julie Curtin of Enumclaw; and junior defender Taylor Hobert of Sumner.
