City planners approve QFC gas pumps

A plan to put gas pumps in front of the QFC grocery store has been approved by the Enumclaw Planning Commission.
The store had been seeking a conditional use permit that would allow gas pumps, along with a canopy and small building for an attendant.
With no one objecting to the proposal, Planning Commission members gave their blessing, but with three conditions: the project must comply with established environmental guidelines; city staff will review circulation patterns in the parking lot after six months; and, if necessary, the city's Design Review Board could eventually mandate additional signage in the parking lot.
Les Johnson, director of the city's Department of Community Development, said he has not been told when ground-breaking on the operation is planned.
