The following is from a Franciscan Health System press release:

Franciscan Health System has opened the Franciscan Medical Pavilion in Bonney Lake.  The state-of-the-art facility will include offices for family medicine, internal medicine, digital x-rays and urgent care. The building will also include a retail pharmacy and on-site lab.

“We are pleased to be able to bring Franciscan’s mission of healing to residents of Bonney Lake, Sumner and Eastern Pierce County,” said Franciscan Medical Group President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Stephen Spare.  “The pavilion is the result of Franciscan’s mission to create healthier communities by offering high quality care in a calming environment where the patient always comes first.”

Chief Operating Officer Dr. Cliff Robertson added: “Our goal at Franciscan Health System is to provide the best community medical services to the residents of Pierce County. This new facility in Bonney Lake represents our mission to become an integrated, person-centered system of care.”

Franciscan and Rush Development Company developed the 45,000 square foot medical pavilion on property at the corner of state Route 410 and Sky Island Drive East. The facility includes an adjacent parking garage that offers over 200 spaces to patients at no charge. Sellen construction served as general contractor and architects were Helix Design Group, Kane Manthey and Collins-Woerman.

Franciscan Prompt Care, the facility’s urgent care unit, offers residents access for minor illnesses and injuries seven days a week without an appointment. Franciscan Medical Clinic provides primary care for the entire family.  Dr. Corie Sandall specializes in internal medicine and has relocated to Bonney Lake from Tacoma.  Dr. Cynthia Garner, an osteopath, specializes in family medicine and recently joined Franciscan after working in private practice in Bonney Lake for several years.

In August additional services will be available including physical therapy, diagnostic imaging (mammography, MRI, CT, ultrasound, pain management injections) and more.  Later this fall, a variety of specialists will offer cardiology, podiatry, occupational health, gastroenterology, oncology and more.

With service delivery as the primary focus, Franciscan leveraged the 3P Lean process to design highly efficient workflows and patient flows. A group of more than 60 Franciscan staff, physicians, and administration, along with patients and strategic partners were involved in the design process.  The goal was to create a lean and collaborative design that functions efficiently and creates a consistent patient experience.
