One person was killed early Sunday morning after losing control of their vehicle on 214th Avenue east in Bonney Lake.

Megan Battocchio, 21, of Auburn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to the two-car crash at 2:05 a.m. Sunday on Sand Hill in Bonney Lake.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies, a vehicle lost control and skidded into oncoming traffic while traveling down the hill on 214th Avenue East between 92nd Street East and Sumner-Buckley Highway.

The driver of the vehicle traveling up the hill was not injured.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the accident.
