This Saturday is National Trails Day, and it’s a great reason to try out–or enjoy again–the Sumner Link Trail. I know this is not the Pacific Crest Trail or the Wonderland Trail, but it is a great 5.5 mile run along the White River that doesn’t make you pack up and drive to access. That means that unlike those superstar trails, you can fit this one into a day of errands and housework.

A groundbreaking ceremony for additional trail improvements to the Buckley to South Prairie section of the Foothills National Recreation Trail will take place on June 7, 2016, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Fitzer Mill Site, along Highway 165.
Officers were on routine patrol when they a family reported a group of kids drinking at the skate park at Allan Yorke on May 23. Officers used binoculars to watch one kid pick up a beer can, start walking away and then return, setting the can down.
On May 21 officers were waived down by a female, who explained she was just in an argument with her ex boyfriend. Officers attempted to locate the ex but could not. Officers contacted the female again, who explained her ex woke her up in her residence and took her dog. The female later observed her ex pooped on the lid of her car.
Officers performed a felony stop on May 14 after a record check on a car revealed the plates were stolen out of Seattle in April. Officers removed the driver from the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs, but another record check revealed he was the correct owner of the car.
Officers were called May 13 to a report of a burglary. The reporting party told officers an unknown person entered the business through the roof, pointing to the broken ceiling tiles around the business.
