Officers were called May 11 for a theft report. The officers met with the owner and manager of the business, who provided officers a video of the theft. The video showed a female employee take cash from the till while she was counting the cash.
Officers were called to assist local fire department at a retirement home for an injured and intoxicated female on April 26. Officers made contact with the female, who had a contusion and a fresh laceration above her right eye, where she was bleeding.
City police were called the morning of May 24 to assist the Department of Homeland Security with a search warrant.
A female called police at 9:37 p.m. May 23, reporting she had been accosted by a man as she walked to her vehicle. She was able to get into the vehicle and he fled on foot.
An officer on patrol the evening of May 17 spotted a possible suspect in a burglary that had just occurred. When the suspect spotted police, he fled on foot.
Police dealt with a fraud/forgery report at 5:30 p.m., heard of a 9 p.m. fight at a state Route 410 location and took a report of an alleged assault at Rainier School.
In addition to a theft report from a Rosewood Circle address and a request to check on the welfare of someone on Spiketon Road, patrolling officers made 23 traffic stops.
It was a busy day for Buckley police, who were told of a theft from a vehicle on Mountain View Avenue, made a DUI stop at SR 410 and SR 165, took a theft report from a Hinkleman Road location and heard someone had been intimidated with a weapon at a Rose Place address.
Tapps Island is revitalizing the decades-old traditional firework show over Lake Tapps on the Fourth of July. The show has been a mainstay for the Bonney Lake community since the 1970s, but Tapps Island General Manager John Clark said funding for the show has flatlined for the last 10 years and he is worried about the show’s continued existence.

An undercover prostitution sting conducted last night in Pierce County led to the arrests of 6 men and 13 women. In this multi-agency operation, led by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, undercover officers posed as “johns,” and set up “dates” with prostitutes through multiple websites.
